The Shoulder of Mutton is a traditional country pub located in the heart of rural Northumberland, between Morpeth and Alnwick. We're the perfect stop off point for journeys between England and Scotland, or for those wishing to base themselves in a central location.

We're close to the renowned Northumbrian coast, 25 minutes from the buzzing city of Newcastle upon Tyne, 30 minutes from the Cheviot Hills and well within reach of Hadrians Wall if you fancied a day trip.

So, what can you expect to find here? We have all the charm and character of a traditional country inn, our comfortable bar serves up a great range of food and drink, or for something a bit special you can dine in 'The Boundary Restaurant' and choose from a huge selection of regional, national and international dishes.

Our rooms are simple but clean and spacious with TV's and tea and coffee making facilities, and we offer a very competitive bed and breakfast rate.
